Zoom calls can be joined from the browser if the organization hosting them allows for it (ARDC should make sure this is enabled). I do not have Zoom installed on my personal computer, and am still able to attend meetings without directly installing their spyware.
Helpfully, this link doesn't appear to work in some browsers... but here's the documentation:

We are currently using groups.io for subgroups, as the main mailing list does not have such functionality. There's a Regional Coordinators' subgroup there. Please do not make this a zoom meeting again. Zoom’s privacy policy is an abomination and the enforcement of having to install their client is a nogo for me.
Given the usability and bandwidth challenges we've had in the past with Jitsi, Big Blue Button and other self-hosted video options, today's meeting will be on Zoom. I agree that their privacy policy leaves much to be desired, to put in mildly. That said, we've learned through much trial and error that we have to prioritize productivity vs. having multiple participants struggle and have to drop out of the calls. There is always the option to call in using your phone if you would prefer; a number of privacy-focused participants use that option. I'll DM you the phone number in a moment. If you can't make it, we'll be posting notes afterwards. All the best,RosyRosy Schechter - KJ7RYVExecutive DirectorAmateur Radio Digital Communications (ARDC)ardc.net_______________________________________________44net mailing list -- 44net@mailman.ampr.orgTo unsubscribe send an email to 44net-leave@mailman.ampr.org
