Ive seen on so many diagrams of setups where there is a VPN into the network.

Ham radio VoIP or RoIP application users, such as IRLP.net, AllstarLink.org, Hamvoip.org, Echolink.org, remote bases or other applications, are using 44Net addresses with BGP VPN or proxy services. This works around some of the NAT issues with public Internet providers.
