Hi.  I have been a volunteer on the ARDC TAC since January 2023.  My background and work experience is Scotiabank, Deloitte, KPMG, RSA, Cisco, and CrowdStrike.  I have had roles as a Digital Forensics Investigator all the way up to Director in Engineering leading large teams with multi-million dollar budgets.  I have also led teams in Engineering security tools, procedure and process for NFL Superbowl, Paris 2024 Olympics as well as numerous high profile breaches and investigations.  In short, I am and will always work for Fortune 500.

ARDC does value my corporate experience.

However, someone with nonprofit experience, usually has a more unique perspective on their role.  I have family members that have worked or been elected in various levels of government and served on many committees in various capacities. They are often faced with working in environments where being resourceful, innovative and devising creative solutions to complex problems without relying on extensive budgets and resources that a corporate environment would have.  Additionally, there is usually more of a community or social impact of the community or group that the non-profit serves.  That offers a sense of personal fulfillment and social impact that you don't usually get with a corporate gig.

If you are interested in the role, and feel you could make a difference at the ARDC with our many technical projects, I encourage you to apply.

Regards,
Ian.

In other words, if you come from a corporate background then don't bother.
The last few months have shown us that they absolutely need corporate
experience!
