I really don't think it makes sense for a ham license to be a
requirement for working at ARDC.
Yes, of course, we'll continue to strongly encourage anyone working with
us who isn't licensed to consider acquiring one. But over time, it may
be important to have skills and experiences on staff that are completely
orthogonal to an interest in ham radio.
Something else is also missing: 2021-05-15 (last week)
was the
deadline for filing AMPR's charitable accounts. Was this done?
No. But, it's all "ok".
I'd hoped we'd be able to file ahead of the 2021-05-15 deadline this
year, but the pandemic continues to complicate and slow things down.
In particular, the decision by the IRS to push out the the personal tax
return filing deadline from 15 April to 15 May this year apparently
really messed up many accounting firm plans and schedules.
Our accountants filed for a deadline extension on our behalf, which is a
pretty "normal" thing to do (we had one last year, too). Regardless,
we're nearly done and expect "final" documents from them shortly which
will then need to be reviewed, possibly tweaked, and approved by the
board's audit committee before we can sign off and submit the various
filings.
Stay tuned!
