It’s great that this works for your network, but as a TAC we want to accommodate for all
networks out there, including the ones that use the ISP router. If we force people to have
a router that supports OpenVPN (or any other protocol) then we immediately increase the
barrier of entry. Our goal is the opposite: decrease it. We want more people in the
network, not less.
That said, all our policy aims to create a network where it’s easy and accessible for
people to join, however they like, and do whatever they want. We want to support all use
cases, not just one.
