While this all may be true and thought to be the best method to pursue,
when will the coordinators get unfettered access to the portal to at least
the same level that we had before Wednesday? We can't even access setting
up new gateways or allocations. Our level of "trust" may be too low. :(

The new portal has been tested quite thoroughly in a
lab environment
with dummy data. Now it’s live we want to make sure we don't break
anything, so we are testing with the live data and enabling things as
and when we are confident they are functioning correctly. So far we have
found a few minor issues that have been fixed and I can confirm that the
encap feed to the gateway server at UCSD is all working as it should
with updates now being pushed once an hour.
As I am sure you can appreciate we could only simulate this until we
went live with the new portal. To ensure nothing got broke, i.e. the
entire IPIP mesh taken down, we paused the RIP updates until testing
confirmed the new feed was working satisfactorily. I’m sure you all
appreciate this methodical approach and I am also sure that the RIP
updates getting paused for a little while will not have caused any
problems, as Neil said: “It’s just a hobby” - HI
To confirm, RIP updates are now unpaused and will be populated once an
hour from data in the new portal.
If anyone finds any anomalies please email newportal(a)ardc.net
<mailto:newportal@ardc.net> with as much detail as you can about the
issue you are seeing.
Thanks for your patience.
