Sorry, but I think there was an misunderstanding. I'm not against abolishing anything, if that means progress. But every time something comes up it lingers on a theoretical level. Let's do it for real, one step at a time. Let's try new things and see how it works. But let's start something. Anything. Personally I am open to ANY test... Sooo, anyone into direct peering with private BGP routing? Or MPLS, or OSPF or whatever? In fact, it's an excellent solution for us; and Rob's suggestion of simply making other RIP44 announcers is good too (but how do people subscribe/subscribe if they are across another non-point-to-point tunnel (another multicast scheme?).
