We also cannot have a part of the network not
reachable for other hams and cannot ask every ham to have 2 subnets and do complex routing
themselves.
The current talks are about regional/local "POPs" managed by skilled
sysadmins, and "Access routers" for endpoints (that can be
Mikrotik/OpenWRT/etc..., or client software running on any platform).
The "complex" routing stuff will be done by sysadmins at POP level (and
the purpose of the TAC is to simplify it). End-users will get
plug-and-play configurations obtained from the POP, and automatically
generated. Users will just have to plug their equipment to the right
Ethernet port. At least, that's what we should achieve, HI :-)
Amprnet is an open network for hams and everything
should be easily reachable to all hams that connect to amprnet.
We all agree about that :-) But I don't think it's currently true, HI :-)
