Thanks. And yes, I think Chris is building a really fine system and I'm
very appreciative (as I'm sure everyone is) of his fine work.

Also, is the standard procedure now for the address

In other words, if I make a change in the portal, is it expected that
the coordinator will make the accompanying change to DNS as well?
Yes, as it stands right now, the DNS entry is still managed the old way. A
mail bot receives commands from the coordinators to add/delete the DNS
entries. I can't speak for the other coordinators but what I do is receive
the portal request, coordinate the address assignment and approve the
request. If enough information exists to assign the DNS name I will manually
enter that into an email to the DNS bot.
I don't know how to handle more complex DNS requests through the portal. For
example if you have a primary
n6mef.ampr.org it's simple enough to handle as
part of the process. But if you need an MX entry then you would have to
request it via notes in the portal forms or in direct emails with the
coordinators.
At present there are no fields for domain name requests in the IP request
but I assume Chris is working on that and it will become available when the
DNS section goes live.
Duh! - As I type this I see he's created a DNS form so you can request DNS
registrations for all the classes and the requests should end up with your
coordinator for approval but I submitted one to myself but it hasn't showed
up in my coordinator side yet. Chris can outline how it is supposed to work.
So far the system is coming along nicely. It confused be a bit at first and
I've made my share of mistakes but I think as Chris refines the system it
will be a very nice tool indeed.
