I think this is more in keeping with the spirit of the list,
and it had been asked for by a few of the subscribers.
If this causes difficulties, please let me know and I can
turn it back OFF.

I think this method is more in keeping with standard list practices on
the lists I've been subscribed to in the past. I suspect people will
more frequently reply to the list than to each other privately.
I concur. Replies should always default back TO the list.
