Thanks for the suggestion, the second thing I did was try running the
command manually while specifying the interface for my Internet
connection but it never printed the password. I did manage to get the
password by running a tcpdump on the interface and examining the raw
packets though.

Hi Chris,
The -i parameter has to point to the IPIP tunnel interface as defined in
the previous step for the password search to work.
The script uses 'ampr0' as an example according to the example setup in
the ampr-ripd package.
This has to be adapted to your local setup (e.g. if you use tunl0).
