some subscribe to the list as individual emails and some subscribe to
the digest which groups emails together into a single digest email.
those using the digest version see the digest name in the subject line
and that subject line remains unless changed when they reply.

I don't recall a thread starting with: 44Net Digest, Vol 3, Issue 146
It makes it very difficult to follow a thread, and in a sense kills the
flow of the topic.
