Hi there. First-off, I don't normally post much to the group.
I've been involved with the IP side of
ampr.org since 1991 or so.
We've run various gateways throughout the years and keep on expanding what
we offer the local ham populations and ham services elsewhere.
It was Brian who had given our group or network BGP auth letters. It takes
alot of work to keep these systems running, and I know there's lots of
people working on various aspects of our infrastructure.
I have an issue that I would like some feedback from the
ampr.org group on
how to move this forward.
We host a few ham websites for our groups and are transferring some of
those to our data center with new upgrades/etc.
To complete this process, there are a few DNS changes we need to have
changed that are required.
I've reached out to Luc Pernot (who is listed as our CDN contact person).
He's confirmed he is the contact person (with a single word "yes"), but he
has been completely unresponsive to support my request for DNS changes.
I've reached out to G1FEF to support these changes. He initially indicated
that even though the authority letter was issued to our va4wan group, and
even though I was using the group's email to send the request to, he
required the other domain admin person to make the request as the address
block was in his name in our groups' email address.
I even had this other admin person email him, and we have had no further
contact since. And, by the way, I am the holder of the group callsign
(va4wan) assignment from our Canadian radio authority.
This request of mine initially started at the beginning of the month in
March. It's now March 26.
Two questions I have.
Is there some other way in which we can update the DNS ourselves (like we
did before) directly on ampr.org?
How do I contact an admin person to assist with these changes in its
current state?
I understand this has been a volunteer group for the most part and I
realize there may be various issues from time to time.
I'd like to understand how we can be more efficient at handling change
requests such as this in the future.
I appreciate your feedback.
