As I recall, I set up one route but I don't think anybody tried it.
Who knows, it might have been working all along. You'd have to look
in the encap table to see if the router address is somewhere in there
as a gateway endpoint.
There's no question that the shim system is the more elegant and perhaps
more useful mechanism, but I'm very concerned about the cost issue,
as we have no budget to buy hardware. It'd have to be donated. People
typically don't have rackmount servers sitting around. Especially not
with a 10GbE interface, which might be necessary to connect to the telescope.
