[44net] Setting up a vps for vpn routing of bgp subnet

Very shortly I will be setting up my vultr vps to route 44.18.28/22. Is there a faq or howto as to how to do this? I need to feed subnets to a couple different sites. Also I see many are using open vpn. Why open vpn as opposed to say IPSec, l2tp, ike2. Those that have preceded me down this road of bgp announcing your subnet ( or having your isp announce it for you) then using a Linux vpn server to connect your endpoints how did you do it once you had the loa in hand and why did you choose the software and methods you did?
