I'm all for standardization! There was already a mailinglist created for the new
routing infrastructure thoughts and ideas a while ago by late Brian at our request.
IIRC that was the 44ngn mailinglist. I do recall some folks not wanting to have yet
another mailinglist to follow/comment on

Some of us already built alternatives to the good old IPIP mesh in different locations of
the world. But nobody does exactly the same thing. Could we create a sub-group, start
thinking together about what we would like for the future, define some kind of
"standardization", and agree to migrate our nodes to that future
"standard", while keeping compatibility with existing networks ? If it works and
is easier to use, then many others may follow...
