Josh as the USENET discussion is part of this thread
let me say that this

just as much as USENET.
And this is pure bull.
Either a web based discussion forum, but those are
so prone to hacking patches are a weekly to daily issue.
I refuse to bounce around from page to page for the dozens and dozens of
groups I participate in and read.
Facebook provides
a clean simple way to discuss.
And I don't and won't do Facebook either. It's may be simple but
that's it.
It's not a good place or way to discuss complex subjects.
Change is good if you have other
suggestions please feel free to point them out
I don't mind change, but change for bad reasons isn't good.
, but email list definitely
does not draw in new users and does not provide a clean discussion with
threads and sub threads.
Then you're using the wrong email program. All the lists I subscribe to (and
the web based groups that allow me to fetch via email) are sorted into folders
and discussions are threaded. I can participate or ignore as I choose in far
less time than mucking on Facebook.
I do G+ and it's at least relatively sane, but it also is no replacement for
mail lists.
