My poor choice of words - but the dependencies are all there as far as the
software is concerned. Of course there is config...
I've tried the wiki at the link you noted several times with no avail -
probably because of my lack of network skill.
If you feel like giving a novice (at this, I've done a lot of SOHO basic
networks) step by step for my allocation, I'd send you a digital beverage
for sure! I really want to learn the GL setup, but if I could get the
EdgerouterX actually running that would be a treat.

EdgerouterX?
It is as close at it can get to a single click option.
