Bob SP2L (ex SP2LOB) suggested I try ampr-ripd but I get the same result with that also.
I think I will go back to Debian and try that.

Peter, what are these results? Only hanging on reboot or other issues, too?
If you do a 'killall ampr-ripd' before reboot, does the reboot work?
