Don't log in that way, use anonymous FTP -
username is 'ftp' or
'anonymous' and the password is anything at all - traditionally
it's your email address.
If you have 'wget', try
wget ftp://gw.ampr.org/pub/Hosts-TBD.txt
I had a bit of fun and games in
Windows - Firefox wouldn't work, neither
did WinSCP in anonymous FTP mode. I resorted to the command line FTP
client and first attempts logged in OK, but hung on the "cd" command
(i.e. "cd pub"). I succeeded by not changing directories and using the
full path in the GET command - i.e.
get pub/Hosts-TBD.txt
