well, it was an option I didn't realise I'd needed...while looking at the incoming tcpdump stuff I'd noticed the router was asking "who has 192.168.0.9" (my tun0 iface).....sooo, added an arp line in linux with the hwaddress of eth0 and made it publish...BINGO! All working even rip working now... Happy camper, John
