All,
The LEDE Forum informed me I may have to recompile ampr-ripd.

Since I know such an undertaking is of interest to many, please let me
know if you want one for your OS.
I plan to set up a fresh machine capable of compiling for:
- Linux Intel x64
- LEDE MIPS Atheros 71xx
- any available cross compile toolchain from the OpenWRT or LEDE
developer site
