So, how do I
get DNS records created in the ampr.org domain? I understand that in the past, there was
an email robot, but I have been unable to find any details on how to use it. Can anyone
point me in the right direction?
There is an old email robot that is available to your regional
address coordinator, or you may send your requests to me.
We hope to have the DNS portion of the portal available in
some weeks but there is a question of how to transition from
the old robot to the new portal DNS that has yet to be settled. The changeover may require everyone to re-enter their
DNS
entries at the portal unless we can come up with a better
way of doing it. The problem is that the existing DNS records
are filled with obsolete and incorrect entries so we can't
simply grandfather all the old records into the new system.
A cleanup of the ampr.org zone would be very nice. Are there any offical
rules how the records should look like (e.g. each A-record needs to
include [*.]<callsign>.ampr.org) in future? Of course we should keep the
experimental character of amateur radio in mind... Currently we have
some nice and useful "exceptions" in the zone file.
