My comment was made within the context of the portal, I was not suggesting that allocations made prior to the existence of the portal are invalid.
I assumed that's what you meant but I didn't want Mike or other readers to panic and think that their previously assigned IP addresses were improper. :)
I know the portal system will be a better method going forward but the old allocations need to be reconciled sooner or later. I have a long list of subnets in 44.18.0.0/16 and I don't have a clue anymore about who is active or not or who might be becoming active after an absence. I know of several /24's like KQ6UP and AF6EP that are allocated but not registered on the portal yet... and these guys are subscribed here. In Eric's case I know my list is outdated WRT his new callsign but his DNS is correct.
