I'm in agreement with you. This isn't something you can do just because you
pass a test and get a ham license, this is something we've been blessed with
out of the kindness of a single individual who was intelligent enough to
reserve a /8 IPv4 subnet and share it with the rest of the world for amateur
usage.
How BK wants his network to run is entirely up to him (and ARDC).
We should respect his wishes and keep in the back of our minds that at any
time he could sell the /8 off to a commercial entity - which would be like
cashing in a current jackpot powerball ticket, and these more recent
conversations would all be mooted by default.
