I've been looking at ways to get the W4AQL shack and repeater building fully internet connected and online. The current systems sit behind a departmentally managed firewall and associated network stack.
Recently discovered AMPRNet...
How would we go about requesting an SWIP allocation? I had an informal discussion with a senior member of the campus network team, and they do have the capability to announce using BGP to our interconnection peers on our current ASN.
Respectfully,
Sam Kuonen, KK4UVL
Set up an account on the portal and make a request for an allocation. I will be in touch.

You can get a block to announce, but SWIP is not going to happen.
We've been pushing for it to happen, there is not a technical reason.
I couldn't even get a response to my portal request for a block to announce in Texas, and direct communication outside the portal to the Texas coordinator was unsuccessful as well. Good luck with the SWIP request, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Make sure your requests are at http://portal.ampr.org (smallest BGP is 256 addresses) -- after registration https://portal.ampr.org/register.php
And don't forget to donate http://www.ampr.org/donate.html

I like to rag on the coordinators as much as any but since we did correspond after Dayton about this, I need to say I did attempt to help you with this, and even contacted the coordinator on your behalf.
The last email was a few questions and I've never heard back if you were successful. I'm not a coordinator and was just trying to help :)
Hit me up and lets see why you were unable to get the /24. If it's indeed the local Texas coordinator sitting on it, up raise it up to Brian.
