The current structure of the amprnet relies on a full mesh of IPIP tunnels, a unique internet/amprnet gateway to forward internet traffic and some directly announced subnets on the regular internet.

The disadvantage of course is that your traffic will b e routed via Finland then. We have OpenVPN here in the Netherlands as well, but I open it only for local users. My proposed design of a PoP network would include OpenVPN servers "all over the world" so you can select one close to you and have efficient routing.
