The instructions in the Wiki definitely work - I've been running an AMPRNet node on OpenWrt for approximately seven years. I have ampr-ripd compiled for most of my routers. I'm not sure how I missed your previous requests for assistance; but I'm willing to help setup an official OpenWrt firmware installation.
