Hello,
I added 2 new gateways yesterday afternoon (static public commercial IP addresses, no firewall) but I'm still waiting to receive RIP broadcasts on those IP addresses.
I think to remember that new gateway IP addresses are only added to the broadcast list every few hours. How can I verify that my gateways actually did make it into the list?

IMHO, I don't think that the whole process takes that long...

LX9LARU is NOT in the encap.txt file - NO SUBNETS assigned! LX0BGP is present in the encap.txt file - subnets assigned

I'm not saying the gateway don't show up in encap.txt but rather they do not RIP broadcasts from 44.0.0.1

The RIP messages just came pouring in on 1 gateway, so I guess I was just impatient.
Thanks to everyone who tried to help me resolve this.

The RIP list *IS* the encap file. It is updated hourly, typically at 16 minutes past the hour. - Brian
