Hi
I am wondering if the outgoing traffic can go through the IPIP tunnel gateway? After adding DNS record to my 44net ip, I can successfully ping my 44net IP. But when I try to run outbound traffic, for example ping -c 3 -I tunl0 1.1.1.1 It won't work. I am wondering how to initiate connections on the Debian 12.
Thanks
Kun
Hi Kun,
I can see your host from the outside looking in, this is from my laptop on my home WiFi (not connected to 44Net)
% ping n7dmr.ampr.org PING n7dmr.ampr.org (44.16.2.65): 56 data bytes 64 bytes from 44.16.2.65: icmp_seq=0 ttl=51 time=141.687 ms 64 bytes from 44.16.2.65: icmp_seq=1 ttl=51 time=142.810 ms 64 bytes from 44.16.2.65: icmp_seq=2 ttl=51 time=145.392 ms 64 bytes from 44.16.2.65: icmp_seq=3 ttl=51 time=145.872 ms ^C --- n7dmr.ampr.org ping statistics --- 4 packets transmitted, 4 packets received, 0.0% packet loss round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 141.687/143.940/145.872/1.746 ms
So it is working. Maybe check your firewall configuration?
if you want a host inside the IPIP mesh to check against you can use 44.63.7.215

Hi Chris, I am able to ping and connect to my server via 44net IP address. However, I can't ping outside from the server using the tunl0 interface. I'm wondering do I need any specific configuration or add any routes if I want to connect to Internet with my 44net IP on my Debian server?
Thanks Kun

For those who are having issues with using a Mikrotik for VPN tunnels, you should check out the Mikrotik programming document for the Wireguard VPN accounts through the HamGate.ampr.org project that we have for two years in the northeast USA in call districts 1, 2 & 3.
