Someone could create an email list only available on 44net, however I doubt there would be much activity on such a list.
The biggest thing I wish this list had was a way to search the archives. I almost sometimes wish it was crawled by google etc. But at the same time that just welcomes more of the unwanted.
Yes, at a rough guess over half the subscribers are on gmail, which wouldn't be able to participate if it were net-44 only. - Brian

If you mean email on ampr.org domain it can be done
I get 4z4zq@4z4zq.ampr.org to hotmail via 3rd party service (free) that with appropriate MX know to catch *.ampr.org and redirect it
I can even read those emails from web interface not only on hotmail
