Bill,
I don't know what Lynwood has, but as a winter project I was going to
attempt the same thing on a Netgear WNR3500Lv2 running OpenWRT.
It too has: 5 GigE Ports, and a USB 2.0 Port
128 MB NAND flash and 128 MB RAM

New subject: OpenWRT
on a Netgear WNR3500Lv2 running OpenWRT.
Little black box - for $42 with free shipping - with more embedded
resources than some of the workstations I still use at home. Now if
only JNOS ran on OpenWRT.

Does anyone know if the Netgear WNR3500L has 5 independent gigE ports, i.e. Are they layer
3 nics or are two or more of them on a switch (layer 2)?

New subject: OpenWRT
The swich chip it is BCM53115S, which services the WAN and LAN port:

It features 2 MII interfaces, but it is not clear from the data sheet if it
supports isolated port access, probably not.
But it supports per port VLANs.
So tagging all untagged traffic on a specific port with a VLAN ID can make
the port act as an isolated port...
