It is not so simple as that Rebecca because the trust level specifies how many addresses you can you can request for your IPv4 sub-net in there, even if it is for the IPIP linked network. This is most likely why people ask for address verification in the first place! The whole thing is remarkable in the first place, I'm 36 years on amprnet, have multiple /24 and smaller sub-nets and my ipv4 limit is set to 28. This means that the maximum IPv4 that I can request is a /28 sub-net and that is all because my address is not verified as yet. That is the reason why I don't want that my ticket is dropped.
It seems there is some misinformation, or at least incorrect assumptions, about how the level of trust works on the new portal. Hands up, we have not communicated a lot of specific information about it, so it’s probably not a surprise that folks have come to their own conclusions, allow me to clarify the question over address verifications and Level of trust points:
Thank you very much for the clarification.
I think the new portal would benefit greatly from the documentation being updated to match reality instead of aspirations. I'm sure everyone on 44net is familiar with the necessity to break eggs to make omelettes. But technical people like to know what's going on...
I appreciate your hard work. Thank you for everything you do.
Thank you Philip. We are fully intending to update/complete the documentation, unfortunately recent events have overtaken us and we are a bit behind.
As some folks have offered help - this is one thing that anyone interested in helping can do: It is clear that the new portal is not as “self intuitive” as it could be, so if you identify a page that you feel needs more information adding to make it clearer, please do send in your suggestions - it can be as simple as “page xxx needs more explanation about item yyy” or you can send in a ready made full text description of what needs adding to the page. Please email to newportal@ardc.net
