It simple: different media for different purpose. Facebook is ok for short term (daily) info with NO intent to be kept for a history purpose.

So if you want to post photo of the equipment or "hey see this" message it is ok. But if you want to publish something of more permanent visibility, Facebook is the last place to do it.

My personal preference are forums as technically most suitable.

For some reason, hams are locked on mail lists which is also quite outdated media for exchanging knowledge purpose.
