Greetings;

As Jay mentioned, we had the email robot before... perhaps it may be wise to run such again parallel to the portal while the issues Chris mentioned are worked out? This is standard practices almost anywhere in which a production environment is being modified/upgraded/replaced.

Keep up Brian ;-)
There is an email robot that has been running alongside the web portal all along, it was advertised on this list and full details of it are available on the portal :-)
But as I said, there are actually no problems outstanding with the gateways part of the portal. It is the other, completely separate parts of the portal, that needs work, namely IP Allocation and DNS.
Cheers, Chris

FROM A PREVIOUS MESSAGE. If you submitted a "request" for a new gateway, it's not actually a "request", in fact as soon as you add a new gateway to the portal it is live right away, there is nothing further the portal or we volunteers need to do, no emails are sent, you can view your gateways on the portal at any time, if they appear in your list, they are live and in the database.
I have a very basic question as someone very new to this group.
I have previously requested a gateway allocation and that allocation shows in the [ Gateways - List ] portion of the portal and also it shows up in the Encap file that I receive on a regular basis. When on the portal and I go to [Gateways - Manage ] the prompt onscreen is [ add new gateway no networks found ]. Is this correct ??
My last Gateway update was via the Robot.

Hi Ian,

The Gateways->List page will display ALL gateways currently in the database.

That means your gateway is not allocated to your account and you therefore need to "claim" it.
Just email me with the public IP of your gateway and the subnet(s) it services and I can allocate it to your login on the portal so you can manage it.
Cheers, Chris

Much has changed since I've come back to the world of the amprnet... I'll have to search for it.

Good job then :)

One thing I do hear from those trying to get on the amprnet via the portal is that they find it to be a bit complex for them. Perhaps we can simplify things?
